Computer Woes
Mood:  happy

Wouldn't you know? Just when I finally get going with "just write something" my laptops cord burnt out. So, off to Ebay, my favorite resource, to hunt down a replacemement. Do you know that shipping from Hong Kong is the same in most cases as shipping from California? Or even Florida. Huh! So, the cord arrived today and now I'm sipping my coffee and downloading Priority Updates for my poor little laptop. What a week! My husband has a computer in the bedroom, my kids use the one in the office, but still it seems I could not get near either one for my one use till nearly midnight, and by then I no longer function an any useful way. I'm so relieved to be able to use my laptop again.

On The Needle: Progress is being made on Tashkent. I can never leave a pattern alone and just follow it, though. For my size, one of the animal motifs would always get cut in half and I would never get to see the horse. So I cut the chart apart and flipped the two sides and taped it back in. Then I colored it in to follow the original layout, and I still changed it, because I am a control freak. But it's my sweater, and besides, I always try to get my customers to feel comfortable with doing what they like and knowing when to "break the rules".

The fan lace scarf is finished, and has encouraged some to try the Eden Bamboo for themselves. I will post the pattern here as soon as it is written.

Just Write
Mood:  caffeinated

I have thought a long time about writing a Blog. But what do I write about??? Obviously, there are many other knitters and shop owners abounding with Blogs of their own. OK, so just like I tell my customers who agonize over choices of yarn, patterns, stitches, etc. "Just start knitting something and it will work out." So I'm trying to take my own advice and "Just write something".

I've had my shop for three years now and I am still enjoying it; more everyday. I still feel like I am "playing store" sometimes, but I've come so far from where I started that it's becoming more real these days.

ON THE NEEDLES:

Tashkent- sweater designed by Jo Sharp from her Emporium book.  This is a very challenging color work project, which I expect to take quite some time. I am mainly staying one step ahead of a customer of mine who was determined to take this project on. She chose the bright version, reds and golds, while I decided to do the blue version.

Fan Lace Scarf- knit with Madil Eden 100% bamboo yarn. This will be a sample for the shop to entice knitters new to bamboo fiber. I am doing a fan lace stich. Eden comes in such lucious colors, and the drape is unbelievable!
